Training and Capacity Building Unit (TCBU)
The Training and Capacity Building Unit (TCBU) provides capacity-building opportunities through training initiatives and events. It also addresses technical assistance requests from IADI Members, and is responsible for receiving Self-Assessment Technical Assistance (SATAP) requests. The TCBU also works closely with IADI’s Council Committees and Technical Committees to implement and further the Association’s strategic goals on capacity building.
Eugenia Alamillo, IADI Senior Training and Technical Assistance Advisor (STTAA), leads the TCBU. Juan Carlos Lopez, Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Analyst (TACBA), and Taurai Togarepi, Training Assistance Analyst (TAA), complete the Unit.

Senior Training and Technical Assistance Advisor
Eugenia heads the Secretariat Training and Capacity Building Unit since September 2019. In this role, she is responsible for directing the capacity-building strategy of the Association and establishing joint programmes with other international financial institutions to offer training opportunities to the IADI community. She formerly worked in Mexico’s deposit insurer, Instituto para la Protección al Ahorro Bancario (IPAB), acting in various positions within the International Affairs Office, including Deputy General Director of International Affairs.

Juan Carlos Lopez
Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Analyst
Juan Carlos joined the Secretariat Training and Capacity Building Unit in October 2020. He is primarily responsible for addressing IADI Members’ technical assistance requests and assisting with the coordination of SATAP review requests. Before working for IADI, he worked in various areas of Fogafin, the Financial Institutions Guarantee Fund in Colombia.

Training Assistance Analyst
Taurai joined the Secretariat Training and Capacity Building Unit in October 2020. He is responsible for supporting the delivery of technical assistance workshops, contributing to the implementation and delivery of the IADI core curriculum, and tracking and reviewing usage of FSI Connect licences by IADI Members. He previously worked for the Deposit Protection Corporation (Zimbabwe) in policy, research, and international affairs.
