Welcome to the website of the International Association of Deposit Insurers!
IADI is a global forum where deposit insurers as well as other financial safety net participants and international financial institutions work together to promote best practices in the areas of depositor protection, bank resolution and financial stability. The IADI’s Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems is an internationally recognized standard that has been incorporated by the Financial Stability Board into the global Compendium of Standards for sound, stable and well functioning financial systems. The Core Principles are used by the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the FSB to assess the stability frameworks of jurisdictions around the world.
IADI’s Strategic Goals include: promotion of compliance with the Core Principles, advancement of deposit insurance research and policy development and provision of technical assistance to Members. To achieve these goals IADI implements a wide spectrum of activities that are guided by and focused on the meeting of the membership’s needs and expectations, improvement of IADI’s status of a global standard setter.
Since its establishment in 2002 IADI have made a substantial progress. It currently has 95 Members (deposit insurers), 12 Associates (central banks and other national authorities) and 17 Partners (not-for-profit national and international organizations). The membership benefits include the possibility to participate in the development of standards, guidance and assessment methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of deposit insurance systems; share expertise and information on deposit insurance and bank resolution issues through training, development and educational programs; engage in technical assistance workshops and the unique Self-Assessment Technical Assistance Program (SATAP).
