This report was prepared by the Review Team on External Relations. It covers IADI Core Principle 4 (Relationships with Other Safety-Net Participants), Core Principle 5 (Cross-border Issues), Core Principle 6 (Contingency Planning and Crisis Management), and Core Principle 12 (Dealing with Parties at Fault in a Bank Failure). The report provides results and observations on the implementation of the reviewed Core Principles as well as suggestions for areas of the Core Principles that may require revisions or guidance.

Call for IADI Sponsored Paper Proposals
The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) invites paper proposals from academics, researchers, and research staff of international organisations on deposit insurance and related topics such as bank resolution, financial stability and financial crisis management. The IADI will fund selected paper proposals, which will ultimately be published on the IADI website. Proposals can range from abstracts to draft papers. Finished papers will not be considered for funding.
This initiative by IADI aims to provide a forum for researchers to share their work with deposit insurance/bank resolution practitioners to advance knowledge about a wide range of issues facing deposit insurers.

IADI publishes results of annual survey on deposit insurance and financial safety net frameworks
IADI has published the results of its 2022 global survey on deposit insurance and financial safety net frameworks. The results are based on responses collected from 108 deposit insurance systems (DIS) across the world, representing approximately 85% of jurisdictions globally. Through this survey, IADI shares its knowledge on deposit insurers’ key characteristics such as mandates and governance, membership and coverage, funding and their role in financial system crisis management and bank resolution.

It sets out how standards guide deposit insurers in incorporating inflation in their activities. IADI Survey Brief No. 2 – "COVID-19 and Covered Deposits"
This Survey Brief was prepared by the IADI Secretariat Research Unit seeking to explore developments relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on deposit insurance globally. This paper investigates quarterly growth rates of covered deposits and finds statistically significant evidence that during the first six quarters of the pandemic, quarterly growth of covered deposits has shifted upwards by 1.5 %-points. On a per-quarter basis, we find evidence of statistically significant increases in the second half of 2020. Results are based on a September 2021 member survey conducted by the International Association of Deposit Insurers in conjunction with the State Corporation Deposit Insurance Agency (Russian Federation).

The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) invites paper proposals from academics, researchers, and research staff of international organisations on deposit insurance and related topics such as bank resolution, financial stability and financial crisis management. The IADI will fund selected paper proposals, which will ultimately be published on the IADI website. Proposals can range from abstracts to draft papers. Finished papers will not be considered for funding.

IADI publishes results of annual survey on deposit insurance and financial safety net frameworks
IADI has published the results of its 2020 global survey on deposit insurance and financial safety net frameworks . The results are based on responses collected from 110 deposit insurance systems (DIS) across the world, representing approximately 85% of jurisdictions globally. Through this survey, IADI shares its knowledge on deposit insurers’ key characteristics such as mandates and governance, membership and coverage, funding and their role in financial system crisis management and bank resolution.

The Financial Stability Institute (FSI) and the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) jointly held the ninth FSI-IADI Conference at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland on 4 and 5 September 2019. The conference was titled “Crisis management, resolution and deposit insurance: what’s next and how to prepare” and was attended by over 170 officials from supervisory and resolution authorities, central banks and deposit insurers.
