IADI is a forum for deposit insurers from around the world to gather to share knowledge and expertise. It provides training and educational programs and produces research and guidance on matters related to deposit insurance.

The Executive Council has established seven standing committees, as well as regional committees for Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Eurasia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa. The regional committees provide a voice to the common interests and issues affecting members in those regions. They also serve as separate forums for sharing information and ideas.

To contribute to the stability of financial systems by promoting international cooperation in the field of deposit insurance and to encourage contact among deposit insurers and other interested parties.

Sharing Deposit Insurance Expertise with the World

The objectives of IADI are to contribute to the stability of financial systems by promoting international cooperation and to encourage wide international contact among deposit insurers and other interested parties. In particular, IADI:

  • enhances the understanding of common interests and issues related to deposit insurance,
  • sets out guidance to enhance the effectiveness of deposit insurance systems taking into account different circumstances, settings and structures,
  • facilitates the sharing and exchange of expertise and information on deposit insurance issues through training, development and educational programs,
  • provides advice on the establishment or enhancement of effective deposit insurance systems,
  • undertakes research on issues relating to deposit insurance, and
  • takes such other action as may be necessary or useful for its objects and activities.
Message from the Chairman

Welcome to IADI's new and enhanced website! If you are new to the Association, I hope you'll spend some time with us at the site to learn about our mission and how IADI and deposit insurance contribute to global financial stability. Our vision is share deposit insurance expertise with the world and our 54 members are unified in purpose: to protect deposits through deposit insurance systems or some other form of depositor protection or deposit guarantee arrangements.

Many of our Participants and Partners who have been with IADI since it's founding in 2002 with new organizations from Barbados, Guatemala, Poland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Guernsey having joined this year.
