
Don Inscoe was appointed Secretary General of IADI effective on 1 May 2008
Don has spent many years supporting the US banking regulatory community. He has lead initiatives to modernize deposit insurance, improve on- and offsite bank supervision, and publish information on banks and the industry.
Most recently Don served as FDIC Deputy Director of Financial Risk Management and Research. In this role he was responsible for FDIC’s risk-related deposit insurance premium system, policy and operational research, consumer finance research and collaborative academic research through the Center for Financial Research, and fair lending support for supervision. Don’s government experience includes extensive participation in international initiatives for technical assistance, deposit insurance and financial stability.
Don has also served on the staff of the US Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), and has held positions in the private sector. He has consulted with central banks, supervisors, and deposit insurers to support initiatives of the U.S. Treasury Office of Technical Assistance, USAID, and the Foreign Services Volunteer Corporation. His private sector experience incudes Vice President of a leading bank consulting and publishing concern, and as senior bank analyst for a company that provided bank ratings to consumers and investors.
Don is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
